“I love you to the moon and back, and I promise to remind you of that every day”
We were super excited this spring to get a call from Britt Smith Events about one of her couples looking for a videographer for their wedding at the Herrington Manor just outside of Deep Creek Lake, MD.
You all know that I feel like we live in this most beautiful place in the States, and Garrett County definitely fits the bill. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but The Herrington is kinda the backdrop of which beautiful wedding dreams are made. It’s a royally styled castle manor house in the middle of the gorgeous countryside, complete with its own pond and island gazebo.
When we got to rehearsal we discovered that yes, The Herrington is just as beautiful in person as it is on everyone’s Instagram…but it was also the least awesome part of this wedding. Joanna, Alan, and their friends and family are what made the day so amazing.
Throughout the day, there was a constant undertone of caring and building each other up. Whenever nerves would kick in, encouragement would soon follow, all the way through the ceremony. The weather forecast looked a little dicey for an outdoor wedding (side note – in this area, it almost always does), but Alan was convinced that the wedding needed to be outside. His determination paid off because at the ceremony time, the sky had just a few white, fluffy clouds and the giant oak tree made the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.
