2020 was full of changes, and Jackie + Nick’s wedding was no exception. They had been planning an international elopement, but a global pandemic meant getting married a little closer to home.
“Planning a wedding through a pandemic was not what I pictured when you asked me to marry you. I stressed for months over the where and when. Where would I get married? When would I get married? I never once stressed about the who. Who I was marrying was a commitment I never had to second guess. A plan that would never change. And today, I get to marry the love of my life, my best friend, my soul mate. I love you today, I’ll love you tomorrow, and I will love you the rest of our lives.”
Luckily, WV provides plenty of gorgeous places for a memorable exchange of vows!
We met up with Jackie and Nick in their rented cabin near the Dolly Sods wilderness area and went along as they traveled up to Bear Rocks and exchanged their vows.
“Jackie, I want to spend the rest of our lives, making memories. Memories that will be unforgettable, and probably a little unbelievable at times. I want you to know that I choose you. In 100 lifetimes, in 100 worlds, in any version of reality, I’d find you, and I’d choose you.”
We could not have had more perfect whether, or more perfect timing. The sun began to set right as they finished their ceremony, providing the perfect backdrop for their first moments as a married couple.
We had to hold on to this film for a couple of months to allow our couple to celebrate with their families….but again, the timing is perfect because watching this film again today makes me so excited for all of our weddings this year, and just to get outdoors and enjoy the beauty that WV has to offer!
Following their ceremony, the happy couple enjoyed a couple of days hiking the wilderness area and enjoying drinks at their cabin with the personalized decanter and glasses that were a wedding gift from Jackie to Nick.
Thanks to Lisa of Wolford Photography for working so closely with us on this wedding. Elopements are truly special events, and it’s always nice to be partnered with someone who respects the intimacy of the ceremony and is happy to work as a teammate in creating a great wedding experience. We always love it when photographers share some images with us after the day, and I think you’ll agree with me that these are truly stunning.
