“Cheers, beers, and Mountaineers!”
Allie and Nick met through the Outdoor Adventure program at WVU. They hiked, camped, and explored their way right up to their wedding day, and incorporated so many of those outdoor details into the day!
A Morgantown WV Wedding
Benton Grove provided the perfect setting for a Mountaineer wedding. The house provided plenty of prep space and room for the family and wedding party while they got ready for the wedding day. Behind the house is a beautiful ceremony site with the rolling hills surrounding Morgantown in the background, where Allie and Nick exchanged their handwritten (and hilarious) wedding vows. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed the cocktail hour in the spacious main house before moving to the reception space.
Allie’s family brought the gazebo from her childhood home to use as a unique and meaningful entryway for the guests. Allie and her dad enjoyed a first look at the gazebo before the wedding ceremony. Allie’s dress was from the fabulous Hayley Paige, and in addition to floral heels, she had custom ‘Just Married’ hiking sandals for the reception.
To share their love of the outdoors with their guests received a water bottle with Nick and Allie’s name on it, and to show love for their alma mater (WVU) and the mountain state, guests signed framed WV prints that were displayed on a quilt made from Nick and Allie’s Adventure WV shirts they had collected through college.
After a round of heartfelt toasts, and the most beautiful sunset, the evening ended with all of the guests singing Country Roads and a sparkler exit.
